Recipe

Combine the honey syrup and the calvados in a shaker filled with ice.
Shake and strain into a martini glass.
Top with La Chouette cider chilled and mix gently.

French Corsair

Recipe

Combine all the ingredients but the cider in a shaker filled with ice.
Shake and pour into an old-fashioned glass.
Top with La Chouette cider and mix gently.

Anecdote

This local cocktail will certainly surprise you! It is inspired by some of the most renowned French privateers from the Mont-Saint-Michel Bay (Surcouf “The king of corsairs”; Pléville Le Pelley “The peg-leg corsair”).

Drunken Owl

Recipe

Pour the vodka in a tumbler glass filled with ice.
Top with La Chouette cider.

Kir Normand

Recipe

Pour the crème de cassis* in a champagne glass.
Pour the calvados.
Top with La Chouette cider chilled and mix gently.

* The crème de cassis (blackcurrant) may be replaced by crème de mûre (blackberry), crème de myrtille (blueberry) or crème de framboise (raspberry).

Anecdote

Félix Kir, a French priest and a politician, gave his name to this drink. Legend has it, that whenever he travelled to Paris as a member of parliament, he would offer a glass of Kir to his fellow travellers.

Mulled cider

Recipe

Wash and cut an orange into pieces.
Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan.
Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
Pour and strain.

* 1/8 tablespoon of nutmeg.
